5 Easy Weight Loss Tips

January 2nd, 2010
Comments Off

Weight loss doesn’t have to be difficult and depressing. In fact, it should be motivational and rewarding. Here are five great tips to help ensure your experience when losing weight is a positive one.

1. Go ahead, indulge yourself! It’s just not reasonable to think you’ll be able to stick to a lifestyle of deprivation. Every now and again it’s fine to splurge and have something you really like. The trick is portion control: instead of having a three scoop monster ice cream cone, get a child’s size.

2. Eat breakfast. When your sleeping your body actually kicks into a kind of “fasting mode.” You “break the fast” when you eat breakfast (thus the name). In fact, if you can eat breakfast within an hour of getting out of bed, you may actually boost your metabolism and burn calories better throughout the day.

3. Try something new. When trying to lose weight, it’s easy to fall into a rut of eating the same foods all the time because you know they’re “safe.” But there are thousands of varieties out there that are healthy and tasty. Read the labels and try something new in the way of ethnic or exotic foods.

4. Talk to yourself. No, it doesn’t mean you’re crazy! Positive “self-talk” really does help lift your spirits and keep you motivated.

5. Take your vitamins. A good multi-vitamin will ensure your nutritional needs are being met. This is especially important if you’re on a diet plan that restricts certain kinds of foods.

The best way to lose weight is through exercise. I know because I lost 45 lbs in six months — and kept it off!

Air Filters Are Not Only In Your House

November 23rd, 2009

You think you are safe without air filters? You couldn’t be more wrong. Try living in a dust laden region for six months without an air conditioner. You’d probably be diagnosed with SARS or asthma in no time at all. Perhaps you just have not heard that a lot of these respiratory conditions are caused by the particles that air filters rid us of. Well, they are. When the air filter in your air conditioning fails, you want to have another on to fall back on. If you don’t know a lot about them, you might replace it with the wrong type. Do the smart thing, and learn about them already.

You probably don’t have a clue how many particles are in the air around you. Even with air filters, some still get past into your respiratory system, sometimes causing sickness and infection. Without the filters, we could all be ridden with disease, for real. You should know of the dozens of consumer products on the market that sport air filters. You should know which ones to choose for each instance you find yourself in. You don’t want to contact a disease now, do you? You should know to understand air filters and use them well.

You know there are particles in the air around you, and you know they are harmful. You know then that you need air filters in as many systems as you can afford. Even if you don’t get 100% protection from antigens in the air, at least you get some. If a machine as unfeeling your vehicle needs an air filter to help clean out pollutants in the air that gets into its engine, I wonder how badly your body would need them too. You don’t want to fool around trying to live without air filters. You could die of disease in very little time, and you would have no one else to blame than yourself for not doing the smart thing.

Air filters aren’t meant for humans only; even machines need protection from pollutants in the atmosphere. And so, lots of machines are fitted with air filters as well. That way, particles don’t get in to damage the moving parts. Indoor pollutants can do you in faster than you can imagine; and more thoroughly too. For that reason, they have air filters everywhere to try to keep you safe. They do what they can, but really, there are no guarantees.

You already know the atmosphere is a mess all around you – you have to. Especially in industrial regions, you have work to do to clean the air before you breathe it. And that is where the air filter comes in. In truth, there aren’t a lot of Americans that live without air filters these days. If you have air conditioning in your home, you have air filters too because they come installed together all the time. But you do need to learn to maintain them, though. You should have them cleaned out every so often, and changed periodically.

Consolidate Your Own Debt Without A Loan

September 9th, 2009
Comments Off

There are many ways to consolidate your debt, and to bring your credit score up to date. Unfortunately you may not be able to get onto a debt counseling program if your loans are secured, or if your debt is not high enough to qualify for debt consolidation. The other alternative would be to take out one loan to settle your debt, but if your credit score is too low, this may not be possible.

What do you do then?

First of all, you should avoid to applying to numerous different debt credit counseling companies. You may be accepted, but it could be by a for profit company who sees that you are desperate. What you now need to do is try to improve your credit score, so that you will once again be a viable candidate for a loan. This will also benefit you in that you will be able to get lower interest rates.

In order to improve your credit score, you first need to ensure that you pay your bills timeously each month. If you have paid your debt on time each month, for at least six months, you will find that your credit score will have improved. Remember not to close accounts as soon as you have paid them off. Having good up to date credit available will influence your credit score positively. Don’t be tempted to open new accounts once your credit score has improved, as this will only throw you into the same situation as before.

Now before you can do this, you need to ensure you have money available to pay your debts each month. What you first need to do is phone your creditors, as a debt counseling company would do, and arrange the minimum amount you can pay each month. Most of the time, creditors will be happy to accept a much lower sum of money, than none at all. Once you have done this, you will need to alter your budget accordingly and see how much you can afford to pay. If you have any extra money to put towards your debt each month, then you must choose one account to pay that money towards. Choose only one debt to pay that extra bit each month, whilst still paying your minimum amount to all the others. This way, you will rapidly eliminate one debt account at a time.

You may be wondering where to find the extra cash to pay your debts off each month in the first place. Unfortunately this will take some strict restructuring of your budget. You need to take one month and write down each and every little thing you spend. You will be surprised how many unnecessary things you purchase each week that add up to a large amount! It may take a few months of sacrifice but you will soon see the benefits, not only financially, but also on your stress levels. Being in debt can be very stressful and upsetting. It is also helpful to read books on budgeting and debt management, and you will soon see that you may not even need to take on the services of a debt management company later on!
